The members of ICUT are independent Texas institutions of higher education incorporated under the Texas Non-profit Corporation Act. They must be tax-exempt, accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, or the American Bar Association. ICUT includes a wide variety of institutions, from research universities to traditional junior colleges.
