ICUT has a purchasing agreement with Technology Resource Center (TRC), a national distributor of computer software and technology hardware that sells exclusively to higher education institutions. All ICUT member institutions are eligible to purchase through this agreement, which includes software from Adobe, Macromedia, Microsoft Select and Student Select, as well as other vendors.
Adobe is one of the most popular software publishers in higher education. Through TRC, ICUT members can purchase Adobe Photoshop, PageMaker, Premiere, Acrobat, After Effects, Illustrator and others. Many foundations, such as the National Science Foundation, are now requiring that grants be submitted in Acrobat PDF. Adobe video editing tools Premiere and After Effects are industry standards, and web development tools Golive and Live Motion are gaining notice. Some of the benefits of this agreement are:
- The lowest volume licensing program offered by Adobe
- No minimum order requirement (If desired, licenses can be ordered one at a time)
- Serial number delivery within 24 hours and CD media within 4 days
- Detailed reporting of license ownership to ensure compliance
